Macular Degeneration Test (Amslet grid):
Purpose:
Screening for central visual field deficiency.
Definition:
This test must be performed in monocular mode.
The test is composed of a grid on a black background with a central white dot.
The user should focus on the central white dot.
Note the response on the response form.
Awaited Responses :
- Distortion of the lines, or metamorphopsia, could be associated with age-related macular degeneration
- A zone where the lines disappear is associated with macular scotoma (blind spot).
